The Vale: Celebrating 25 Years of Dowa Methodist School

Back in 1996, students and staff at The Vale set out on an ambitious fundraising project to set up a school in Dowa, Republic of Benin, West Africa. The project was led by former staff member Andre Hounkpatin and was hugely successful.

The school is now thriving and has continued to retain close links with The Vale Academy. We are delighted that Andre, who is now retired, returned to visit us with an update of the school’s 25th anniversary. The Vale are planning further events in early 2022 with more details to follow.
