Year 2 had a fantastic time on Tuesday morning with Mr Watkinson when they participated in a rugby league taster lesson. The children learnt the importance of a rugby ball and how to make a 'w' shape with their hands to ensure they had a tight grip on the ball. They practised and learnt how to score a try which is used within matches. Additionally they were travelling about with the ball in their hands and most of them were able to do so without dropping the ball showing they had the correct, secure hold. The session ended with a taster of tag rugby allowing children to practise defending and attacking. Following the lesson some great comments were made by the children:
"I loved it."
"It was the best lesson ever!"
"It was amazing, I want to do it again!"
"It was amazing but next time I would like to play in a match"
